What Makes It Different

One Extra Foot of Height

The "high cube" designation means the container is one foot taller than a standard ISO shipping container, also known as a conex box. That takes the exterior from 8 ft 6 in to 9 ft 6 in, and the usable interior ceiling from 7 ft 10 in to 8 ft 10 in. Available in several grades, including used wind and water tight (WWT) and one-trip. See our condition guide for the differences.

That extra foot can help with overhead storage, lighting, and equipment, but finishes and insulation reduce the final headroom.

Use Cases

Ways to Use a High Cube in South Carolina

Pallet racking for the automotive and tire supplier yards around Greer, Ridgeville, Ladson, Sumter and Richburg, where the extra foot of height gives racking more room.

Any build you intend to insulate and finish, because closed cell foam on the walls and ceiling takes headroom you cannot get back in a standard 40ft.

Distribution and logistics operations along the I-85 and I-26 corridors and around the inland ports at Greer and Dillon, staging freight upright rather than flat.

Raw stock and finished goods storage for advanced materials and nonwovens plants across Greenville, Spartanburg, Laurens and Cherokee counties.

Parts and tooling storage close to the equipment yard, rather than back at the shop, for timber, quarry and industrial operations across the Pee Dee and the Sandhills.

FAQ

High Cube Container Questions

The footprint is identical, and the high cube is one foot taller.
It changes the overhead, not the ground. The run is still 130 feet of straight, level approach, but the truck carries the box a foot higher. The site still needs at least 15 feet of height for the truck to drive in and 22 feet of height along the entire unloading path. Low limbs and service drops are worth identifying before delivery.
The high cube is quoted separately from the standard 40ft, so ask for its price for your address. For comparison, Wind and Water Tight standard 40ft units start at $2,401 delivered in Charleston. Container One sets prices, and they change without notice; your written quote gives the price for your order, including delivery to your address. Prices as of 2026-08-06.
Warranty runs by grade: one-trip units carry a 10 year structural and 10 year no-leak warranty, cargo worthy and wind and water tight units carry a 5 year structural and 5 year no-leak warranty, and economy units carry a 1 year roof leak warranty.
